The fall decor edit: 24 Amazon finds for a cozy, candlelit home
Velvet pumpkins, amber glass, brass candlesticks and plaid. Everything you need to make every room feel like fall, room by room.

There is a moment every October when the house starts asking for it. The evenings get dark a little earlier, the lamps go on before dinner and suddenly the summer linen throw on the sofa looks completely wrong. That is the moment for a fall refresh.
The good news is that it does not take a full redo. The coziest fall rooms this year are built from a handful of warm, tactile pieces: velvet and ceramic pumpkins, amber glass, brass candlesticks, plaid and chunky knits, and a lot of candlelight. Mix them across a few key spots and the whole house shifts into the season.
I have rounded up my favorite fall decor finds on Amazon, room by room, so you can shop one corner or the whole edit.
The coffee table
The coffee table is the easiest place to start because a single tray does all the work. Corral everything on the 22 inch round wood ottoman tray with metal handles and it instantly reads as styled, not cluttered.
On the tray, build a little landscape with three heights:
- Tall: a ribbed amber hand-blown glass vase with a few stems of faux eucalyptus.
- Medium: a pumpkin spice soy candle in an amber glass jar. Amber glass catches the light beautifully when it is lit.
- Low: a trio of velvet pumpkins in gray, taupe and ivory, which feel soft and luxe instead of kitschy.
Drape a cream chunky knit throw over the arm of the sofa nearby. It is machine washable, which matters when it is going to be used every single night.

The mantel
A fall mantel is all about layers that run from end to end. Start with a fall maple leaf garland (it comes as a four pack, so you can double it up for fullness) and let it trail off one side.
Lean a framed vintage fall landscape against the wall instead of hanging it. Leaning art feels relaxed and collected, and it is easy to swap out for the holidays.
Then add height with a set of three brass taper candle holders in small, medium and large. Fill them with ivory flameless taper candles with a remote so the mantel glows every evening without anyone worrying about open flames. Finish with a cluster of white and gold ceramic pumpkins at the base of the candlesticks.
The Thanksgiving table
You do not need new dishes to set a beautiful fall table. Bring in color and warmth through the details instead.
- Napkins: rust stonewashed linen napkins in a generous 20 inch size. Loosely knot them or tuck a sprig of greenery into each fold.
- Glassware: an amber glassware set of six, which makes even water look festive.
- Flatware: a matte gold flatware set, service for four, for a little warmth against white plates.
- Centerpiece: a scattering of handmade velvet pumpkins down the middle of the table, tucked between candles and a few stems of faux dark orange eucalyptus in a glass vase.
Keep the centerpiece low so guests can see each other across the table. That is the one rule of a good dinner party table.

The kitchen counter
The kitchen is where everyone ends up, so give it a small seasonal moment by the sink or the stove. A white ceramic farmhouse pitcher vase filled with fall stems is the anchor. Lean an acacia wood cutting board with a handle behind it for warmth and texture (it doubles as a cheese board when friends drop by).
Swap your everyday towels for a set of Hello Fall pumpkin and plaid kitchen towels, and move your soap into a pair of amber glass soap dispensers with stainless steel pumps. It is a tiny change that makes the whole counter look pulled together.
The cozy living room corner
Every house needs one spot made for a blanket, a book and a cup of something warm. Swap your pillow covers for burnt orange and black buffalo plaid pillow covers, the easiest fall update there is.
Above the chair or on a nearby shelf, add a vintage moody fall lake landscape print. A moody, vintage-style landscape adds instant depth to a plain wall. Drape a plum fall leaf garland along a bookshelf for a deeper, more grown-up take on fall color.

The entryway
First impressions count, especially with holiday guests on the way. Outside, a fall leaves coir welcome mat sets the tone before anyone even rings the bell.
Inside, run a rust linen table runner across the console. At 14 by 36 inches, it is sized for a dresser or entry table rather than a dining table. Top it with a vase of stems, a pair of candlesticks and a few pumpkins, repeating pieces from the rest of the house so everything feels connected.
Your fall refresh checklist
- Pick your palette. Choose two or three colors (rust, amber, ivory or plum) and repeat them in every room.
- Start with one tray. Style the coffee table first. It sets the tone for the whole room.
- Add candlelight everywhere. Real candles where you can watch them, flameless tapers where you cannot.
- Swap the textiles. Pillow covers, throws, napkins and towels change a room fastest for the least money.
- Repeat pieces. Pumpkins, amber glass and brass in every room make the house feel considered, not themed.

Make it yours
The best fall homes do not look like a store display. They look lived in: a candle that has actually been burned, a throw that has been pulled over someone's knees, pumpkins nudged into place a dozen times. Start with one corner this weekend and build from there. And if guests are coming to stay for the holidays, my holiday guest room refresh will help you get the spare room ready too.
